specific weave of cotton has been used since early modern Japanese martial
arts began spreading throughout the world. Today, it’s widely adopted in
judo and Brazillian jiu jitsu as the standard for gis. The unbleached cotton
is natural and harkens back to pre-1960’s at which time bleached cotton
began to grow in popularity.
